Woman sets herself on fire and dies because her husband takes a second wife.



In a statement to (Warvin), lieutenant colonel (Hassan Muhammad) spokesman of Garmian police said: “the woman lives in Shahidan district of Kalar, on (June 2, 2013) she poured kerosene over her body because of her husband and set herself ablaze, she was transferred to Kalar hospital but died of high percentage burns”.

lieutenant colonel (Hassan) also stated: “ according to the investigations, the reason behind setting herself ablaze was because her husband took a second wife, so the judge order her husband’s arrest and a case has been opened for the incident”.

A source from directorate of confronting violence against women in Garmian told (Warvin): “the woman’s name is (S.A.A), she is 33 years old and has 4 kids”.

Kirkuk: 23-year-old girl killed by her brother
In a statement to Warvin, a close source from the girl’s family stated: “the girl’s name is (N.A) and she is 23 years old, she was shot with Kalashnikov.
The same source stated that she was killed by her brother and the murder has run away to an unknown place.
In this context, Captain (Ahmad Muhammad) orderly officer at Al-Uruba police station stated that they are unaware of this incident and nobody has informed us.
