European Yezidi Federation visits Human Rights Association

The European Yezidi Federation is on a visit to North Kurdistan to draw attention to the situation of Yezidis who had to flee following the attacks of ISIS and to develop solidarity with them. The federation visited the Human Rights Association (IHD) in Amed yesterday. Welcomed by the Amed branch secretary of the Association, Abdusselam Inceoren, and the executive committee members Emin Ermin and Yildiz Koc, the delegation of the federation thanked the association for their support and solidarity they have shown and the aid campaigns organized after with the attacks of ISIS.

Speaking on behalf of the Federation, Sekh Huseyin recalled that the peshmerga forces of the government of the Federal Kurdistan region withdrew without resisting in the face of ISIS attacks, adding that: “Terrible things have been done. Things that are impossible for a person who has the feelings of mercy and humanity to accept. For sure, our people will resist against these, you, we, our friends on the mountain. We demand from all of our people to continue the solidarity with the Yezidis until they are free and return to their own lands. We thank you for all these things you have done”.
Speaking on behalf of the Human Rights Association, the Amed branch secretary Abdusselam Inceoren said the visit of the federation is of importance to them, meaning a lot. Stating that the feeling of solidarity prevails under these kinds of conditions, Inceoren said no one could remain indifferent to what had happened. Inceoren said they had followed the situation of Yezidis displaced by ISIS attacks from the first day on and had prepared a list of their needs by special committees they had formed, adding that they will continue the solidarity and aid campaigns.
