PDK has been in Iran for several years as called qayade mawaqat them cooperated with the Iranian regime against Iranian Kurds.

ERBIL-Hewlêr, Kurdistan region 'Iraq',— Iranian parliament speaker said his country is committed to supporting the Kurdistan Region in its fight against the Islamic State (IS). 

Ali Larijani, Iran’s speaker of parliament who arrived in Erbil on Friday said that Tehran was “greatly content” to see Kurdish Peshmerga forces triumph over the militant extremists. 

“Every country in the region should do their part in confronting the threats posed by the terror groups,” Larijani said in a meeting with Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani.

According to a statement issued by the Kurdish presidential office, Barzani described Larijani’s visit as “a new stage in relations between the two countries.”

“President Barzani praised the Iranian government’s support to the Kurdistan Region in the fight against the Islamic State,” read the statement, adding, “President Barzani said that’s what wewww.Ekurd.net expected from our friends in the Iranian government and their people,”
Barzani told the Iranian delegation that countries in the region should set aside their differences when fighting terrorism.

“We have to cooperate to destroy terror even if we have disagreements on common issues,” he said.

Larijani said that he was in Kurdistan to exchange views about the threat of terrorism, “Iran sees terrorism as a serious threat to everyone.”

Iraqi Kurdistan plans to strengthen its relationship with Iran, the prime minister of the autonomous Kurdistan region said last week in an acknowledgement of the deepening ties between Erbil and Tehran. Nechirvan Barzani said in a statement a new oil deal between Erbil and Baghdad would not impact the Kurdistan Regional Government's ties with Turkey, or its growing partnership with Iran.

Larijani arrived in Erbil after visiting former Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and PUK leader in Slêmanî whose Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has historically enjoyed good relations with neighboring Iran. 
Iranian military advisors have been instrumental in defeating IS militants by supporting Shiite militia groups in northern Diyala and Samarrah north of Baghdad.
